The 2013 season began impressively for Liquid Lou Cicconi and the entire Vic Miller team. Driving the 71 for the first time this year, Lou started the day with a record shattering time trial effort. He posted a lap of 15.164 seconds for the Oswego 5/8ths mile! Heats were up next, with Liquid Lou starting fourth and finishing second.

Feature time showed Liquid Lou starting ninth in a large field of 24 supermodifieds. After the green flag fell, Lou began his race to the front. A yellow on lap 27 showed Liquid Lou in the fourth position. He continued his march through the field, and by lap 37, he found himself in second place. Teammate Chris Perley had made it up to the lead in the Vic Miller 11. With many lapped cars between Liquid Lou and Perley, Lou was unable to catch him for the victory.

Liquid Lou was excited about the day’s results. “This car is effortless to drive! Chris got to the front a lot quicker than I, and I wasn’t able to catch him,” said Lou after the race. “The track record means a lot to me. I’m so proud of my team and thankful for the opportunity Vic has given me this season.”

Liquid Lou will be back in the 71 on June 8th back here at Osewgo!
